The third season of Food Wars, hosted by Food Network’s Diego Sanchez is finally here! You can expect some serious buzz surrounding this premiere. Season Three is just around the corner and I have a feeling that the hype will only grow for this premiere. This season will bring back the classic debates between food manufacturers and the home cooks. I am sure we will see many familiar faces in this show such as chefs from both SBS’s Master Chef and icings around the world.
There are several food related topics in this premiere episode – We get to revisit two of the first battles (season one), the “Mexican Situation” and the “Cheese War.” In the “Mexican Situation,” Chef Manuel surely makes an impression with his questionable methods of incorporating cheese into his fajitas. This controversy has made some food enthusiasts angry and Chef Miguel makes it known that he will not be practicing this anymore.
Meanwhile in the “Cheese War,” old school chef struggles against – the newest competitor Antonio. The stakes are high for both of them since they both cook for the same audience. When the dust settles, who is going to be the true victor? We get to see a battle between traditionalists and new age chefs at the end. The taste of these two ingredients is just what Food Wars fans have been waiting for.
It was also exciting to see Diego’s take on fajitas – He uses a more southwestern style and his guests often comment how good they are. One of his customers even said that he was “so good, I’ll die before I eat another one.” Such sentiments are a little extreme but it is always nice to see a veteran chef battling it out against a new comer!
One new season – that I am very excited about is the “Asian Cuisine” competitions. There are only six episodes for this season but already people are talking about it like it’s the next big thing. Asia is becoming more popular and shows no signs of slowing down. The food is awesome and the techniques are getting more advanced. The show has become very educational for me.
So what do you think about “UC” so far? Is it just like every other food fighting competition or does it have its own style that will appeal to its audience? Can you imagine a future where you never have to say you’re sorry? This is just my opinion of course but I am just going on the opinion of others in this situation.
Food Wars season 3 episode 1 is soon to be premiering and you will want to watch it right now while you can!
